New Graphic Novels For May
Graphic novels have become an essential component of library collections for all ages, as well as having enormous potential for classroom use. Whether you're a reluctant reader or a lifelong fan you might be surprised at how many titles can now be found in graphic form. Here's a selection of some of our newest titles:

HALO : Helljumper -- When the Helljumpers respond to an SOS call from the remote science colony Ariel, they stumble upon something that catches them off guard: the colony is deserted, seemingly abandoned by every man, woman and child who ever lived there. The lone corpse on the planet's surface, a communications officer, appears to have died of fright. The discovery of a large Covenant military presence raises more questions than it answers.
Last Unicorn -- Set in a fully realized but slightly tongue-in-cheek fantasy world that has inspired everything from The Princess Bride to Stardust, Beagle's story is a romantic fable about a regal unicorn who leaves the forest she has protected since time immemorial to find more of her kin. After a short spell of imprisonment by a witch's traveling circus, she journeys onward with an accident-prone magician, hoping to find the answer to her quest in the land of a coldhearted king and a monstrously fearsome red bull.
Liberty Vocational. Vol. 1, Will super villains be on the final? -- As universities go, Liberty Vocational is the private college of choice for budding superheroes learning to master their extraordinary powers for the good of humankind. But for sixteen-year-old Leah Taymore, just making her way through classes without incident is shaping up to be a superhuman task. Witch & Wizard (graphic novel). Bk. 2, Operation zero -- Whit and Wisty get the shock of their lives when a member of the New Order's inner circle, The One Who Bans Books, contacts them with a clandestine proposal: he wants their help in removing The One Who Is The One from power! He confesses to having grown disgusted with the N.O., and reveals that he's aware of an ancient book of the occult that holds a spell for stripping an individual of all their magic.
