Repast Baroque Trio opens Notes in MidWinter Series
Repast Baroque Trio opens the 2013 Notes in MidWinter concert series with a program entitled "For Several Friends." Featuring intimate chamber music for violin, viola da gamba and theorbo, the program will include pieces from Matthew Locke's collection of music "for several friends", as well as works by Archangelo Corelli, Nicola Matteis, and others.
Founded in New York City, the ensemble was a finalist in the Early Music America/Naxos Recording Competition in 2003. The program will be performed by Repast members Amelia Roosevelt, baroque violin, John Mark Rozendaal, viola da gamba, and Charlie Weaver on lute/ theorbo.
Notes in Midwinter is organized and sponsored by the Music Committee of the Friends of the New Canaan Library, chaired by Wendy Kerner. Registration is not required, but space is limited and early arrival is recommended.
