Small business owners know that thoroughly understanding the market is vital to their success. Join us for “Marketing Research on a Shoestring,” to learn how small business owners acquire the market research they need without breaking the budget. This workshop is presented by SCORE of Fairfield County and takes place on Tuesday, June 2 at 6:00 in the Library’s Adrian Lamb Room. Check-in starts at 5:30.

Career marketing consultant, author and Professor Tom Greenbaum will be the featured speaker, covering the following points and topics:

•    How to conduct research for your small business at no cost;
•    How to determine trends in your market;
•    Researching the attitudes of your customers toward your business;
•    Focus groups and where they might fit into a marketing program;
•    How to most effectively use a business library for research purposes.

Tom Greenbaum spent his career in the marketing consulting business working with large and small companies. He worked at both Procter and Gamble and Church & Dwight, and then ran several of his own businesses in the marketing and marketing research for more than 35 years. Tom has written six books about marketing and marketing research and has taught marketing and marketing research at American University, UConn and the Stern Graduate School of Business and NYU. He is a veteran SCORE counselor.  

SCORE Counselors to America’s Small Business was established by Congress in 1964 as a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business. The Fairfield County Chapter has 100 volunteer professionals with a very broad mix of senior executive and small business experience. These dedicated men and women include both working and retired executives and business owners. They conduct more than 3,000 private sessions each year.
