New Canaan Library is a funding partnership; the Town provides a generous grant that provides approximately 80% of our annual
operating funds, but our collections and programs
are funded by you, our donors.

Whatever your interests the Library is here to serve you. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff ican help you find what you need, assisting with your search for great reading, information, and entertainment.

Opportunities for Giving

ANNUAL APPEAL - Contributions to the Annual Appeal directly fund our collections and programs. Last year your contributions enabled us to purchase 18,110 new items. You responded by borrowing 445,854 books, CDs, DVDs and more! Our goal for the year ending June 30, is $310,000 our greatest challenge to date. Every gift, regardeless of size, can put a new book, movie or music CD on the shelf.

TRIBUTE GIFTS - You can make your gift in honor of a friend or relative to mark a special occasion. Gifts in memory of a loved one are also a fitting tribute. The gift can be of a general nature, or you can specify an area of interest for making a purchase for the collection. We will acknowledge your gift to the honoree or family.

DESIGNATED OR CAPITAL GIFTS - Please speak with the Library Director if you wish to make a gift for a designated purpose.

The New Canaan Library Association is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are fully deductible under federal tax regulations. The New Canaan Library is eligible for corporate matching grants.
