Author on Stage - Kenn Kaufman

The Field Guide to Nature in New England is the latest in Kaufman’s best-selling and popular series of nature guides. A lifelong naturalist and one of the world’s best known bird experts, Kaufman has been passionate about nature since a young child. As a teenager he hitch-hiked around North America pursuing birds, which led to the publication of Kingbird Highway, his memoir of the experience and a classic among birders and naturalists.

In addition to his work on the field guides, Kaufman is also a Field Editor for numerous nature publications including Audubon Magazine, Bird Watching and Wild Bird, among others.  Kenn and his wife Kimberly, Executive Director of Ohio’s Black Swamp Bird Observatory, have worked together on many projects to foster interest in nature and to protect natural resources.
