Drawing Lessons for Kids by Children's Author/Illustrator Anik McGrory!

Children ages 4 to 11 and their parents are invited to join in the fun of learning sketching from Anik McGrory. Anik has written and illustrated several picture books. She will describe her illustraton process to the guests. She will read her most recent book is Quick, Slow, Mango! published in 2011. Then she will give the children some fun drawing steps. Paper and pencils will be provided. Anik will happily answer questions. Elm Street Books will sell her books and Anik would be happy to autograph them. Ms. McGrory grew up in New Canaan and graduated from New Canaan High School. She studied illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Anik received the Don Freeman Memorial grant-in-aid Award and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Award in 2003. She has provided charming watercolor illustrations for several authors. These watercolors have been credited for adding an extra dimension to each story she illustrates. She has written and illustrated Mouton's Impossible Dream, Kidogo, and most recently Quick, Slow, Mango! Other illustration clients include Macy's, The Chicago Tribune and the National Book Critics Circle.
Her hobby is travelling. She has lived in Paris, London and Uganda. Anik is married and has three young children. She currently lives in Rye, New York. Visit Anik McGrory's website.
