New Scholastic Storybook Treasures on DVD

We have a wonderful selection of DVD's featuring classic children's stories in a series put out by Scholastic called Scholastic Storybook Treasures. It is the #1 award-winning DVD line for kids. Patrons can search for these DVD's in our catalog by simply entering Scholastic Storybook Treasures in the "Title" search field, which will bring up the full list of titles, or you can search by a favorite picture book individually by entering that title in the Title search field. Each DVD contains several titles.

Noisy Nora by Rosemary Wells : What's a mouse to do when little brother and big sister take up all mom and dad's time? For Nora, the answer is easy. Yup, it's plenty of noise. T is For Terrible from the book by Peter McCarty, Cannonball written and illustrated by John Burningham, and Goggles! from the book by Ezra Jack Keats are included, with a bonus story Munro by Jules Feiffer. This DVD includes a Read along option for all stories!
The Hans Christian Andersen Collection : This collection of classic Hans Christian Andersen tales includes six beloved stories brought to life on film. The Ugly Duckling is the classic tale of an ugly duckling who spends an unhappy year ostracized by the other animals in the barnyard before he grows into a beautiful swan. In The Emperor's New Clothes two rascals sell a vain emperor an invisible suit of clothes. In The Nightingale despite being neglected by the emperor for a jewel-studded bird, the little nightingale revives the dying ruler with its beautiful song. The Red Shoes is the story of a girl's desire for a pair of red dancing shoes which almost dooms her to dance forever. In The Little Match Girl the wares of the poor little match girl illuminate her cold world, bringing some beauty to her brief, tragic life. And The Swineherd is a fairy tale about a prince who disguises himself as a swineherd and learns the true character of the princess he desires.
