Teen Review: In My Hands: Memories of a Holocaust Rescuer by Irene Gut Opdyke
"Just like Anne Frank, Irene had to find a way to escape from the evil Nazis. I can't imagine having to live in a dark and a gloomy ghetto just to be able to stay safe; welcome to the life of Irene Gut Opdyke, a survivor from fleeing out of Germany to freedom, the United States. After reading this book, I've realized that I should definitely appreciate with what I have now because Irene had to lose some of her beloved ones. She was lonely, and was left bereft with many things. But she was positive, and that's what counts the most!"
