This year marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the “Laurentic”, a British ship laden with forty-four tons of Allied gold that was sunk off the coast of Ireland. The Sunken Gold tells the story of the epic struggle by divers from the British Navy to recover the treasure and break into sunken U-boats looking for codes, ciphers, and other secret documents. Their mission to recover the gold was highly successful with 99% of the treasure found…however, there are still twenty bars of gold left in the wreck, waiting to be discovered.
