Arthur Szyk and His Art
Join us on Thursday, April 10, when David Kaplan presents this fascinating talk about the wide-ranging artwork of Polish artist Arthur Szyk. An illustration for his Haggadah from the Library of Congress's collection of Hebraica is shown. A rare edition of the full work will be on exhibit at this program, as will copies of his other religious, civic, and political art. Syzk lived in New Canaan for the final years of his life, and his illuminated rendition of the Declaration of Independence hangs in our First Selectman's office. Join us for this interesting program.
Reception at 6:00 p.m. Presentation at 6:30 p.m.
