Novelist Linda Castillo is renowned for gripping mysteries, particularly her bestselling Amish series featuring Chief of Police Kate Burkholder. Ms. Castillo will appear at the Library on Wednesday, June 20th to introduce her newest thriller in the series, Gone Missing

As Castillo’s previous thrillers in the series, Gone Missing is set within the Amish community, this time involving a rite of passage gone terribly wrong.  Rumspringa is traditionally a time when Amish teens are allowed out of the close knit community and allowed to experience life without Amish rules. It is a time of discovery and personal growth, a chance to question oneself before committing to the church and Amish way of life. But, when one of the teenagers disappears without a trace the excitement comes to a sharp halt and panic and fear spread throughout the community like wildfire. Every parent’s nightmare becomes reality when a body is found and murder becomes the focus. Chief Kate Burkholder, whose own Amish roots run deep, has to call upon all her personal resources and those of others to solve this horrific mystery.

The event is co-sponsored by Elm Street Books.
