Category: Music
Location: Adrian Lamb Room

The award-winning a cappella quartet ‘Round Midnight makes a third appearance at the New Canaan Library on Sunday, February 3 in the final concert of the 2013 Notes in MidWinter Series.  The quartet's program is entitled "Round Midnight: Harmonizing the World."  ‘Round Midnight is an award-winning “a cappella” quartet of music educators from New York City. The quartet sings primarily in the barbershop style and demonstrates how close harmony can be applied to different musical genres such as R&B, pop, jazz, and rock. The group is a four-time Semi-Finalist in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s (BHS) International Barbershop Quartet Contest and is a past BHS Mid-Atlantic District Quartet Champion. 'Round Midnight's recordings have garnered two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARA) nominations in the categories of “Best Barbershop Album,” for their most recent collection entitled, “New York State Of Mind,” and “Best Barbershop Song” for their rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love”.

Notes in Midwinter is organized and sponsored by the Music Committee of the Friends of the New Canaan Library, chaired by Wendy Kerner.  Registration is not required, but space is limited and early arrival is recommended.
