Friends' Summer Concert: 'Round Midnight Encore
The 2011 "Notes in Summer" outdoor concert features 'Round Midnight, the award-winning a cappella quartet whose performance in the Notes in MidWinter 2010 concert series was an audience favorite. Sponsored by the Music Committee of the Friends, this free outdoor concert is a great event for the whole family. All are welcome, and refreshments will be provided. Outside the West Plaza entrance, or in the Lamb Room in case of rain.
'Round Midnight is an a cappella quartet of music educators from the Long Island/Manhattan area of New York. While they sing primarily in the barbershop style, their eclectic influences range from jazz to classical and everything in between. They have been featured in an array of showcases, contests, and educational workshops spanning the United States from New York to California. Winner of the 2006 New York Harmony Sweepstakes, the quartet was also selected the Mid-Atlantic District Quartet Champions for 2010. The members of ‘Round Midnight are Larry Bomback, tenor, T.J. Carollo, baritone, Wayne Grimmer, lead, and Jeff Glemboski, bass. More information, including sound clips, is available at the group’s website.
