Hyun Joo Jung - "Voice of Silence" Art Exhibit
[May 10, 2012] New Canaan Library is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition by Connecticut-based artist (Hannah) Hyun Joo Jung. The exhibition, entitled “Voice of Silence,” features compelling images, rendered in oil, that are botanical in theme and ethereal in mood. “Voice of Silence” will run from May 13 – June 17 in the H. Pelham Curtis Gallery with an opening reception of Sunday, May 20, from 3 – 5 PM. The reception is open to the public and all are invited to attend.
Hyun Joo Jung states that her artwork reflects the “substantial reality of being alive through the abstract organic forms.” Jung also notes that in this body of work, the sense of movement in organic forms remains the most vital component in these increasingly complex compositions. She uses monochromatic color schemes and layer upon layer of oil paint to create images that shift and change with the movement of the viewer and the light. “Voice of Silence” presents images of both literal and illusionist depths; complex and emotionally compelling.
