Staff-Assistance Volunteer Opportunities

• Assist in all the departments including Children’s, Circulation, Collection Management and the Reference

• Shelve new books, Special Collections, CDs, DVDs, Books on Tape and Books on CD in the Main library and the Children’s Room

• Showcase new magazines on the display racks and prepare previous issues for circulation

• Organize newspapers and magazines in order and discard according to schedule

• Run photocopies as needed

• File newspapers clippings and pamphlets in the Vertical File

• Check the circulation activity using the Library software for each item for any weeding projects

• Delete withdrawn items from the Online Catalog

• Data entry for our collection management

• Process books for the Book Group Collection

• Create lists of new DVDs, Audio Books and special subject lists

• Assist the Children's librarian in special craftprojects and programs
