WORLD EVENTS, HISTORY
AND CULTURE BOOK GROUP

We are establishing a new evening Book Group, "World Events, History and Culture Book Group" which will be led by Ken Hecht.
The first meeting will be on Wednesday, February 10th at 7:30 pm in the Plaut Conference Room with a discussion of the book, "The Year That Changed the World" by Michael Meyer.
On Wednesday, March 10, "Descent Into Chaos" by Ahmed Rashid will be discussed.

Winter Storytime Registration for ages 3 to 8
begins on Tuesday, January 5 at 9:30 AM (In case of inclement weather, registration will be held on 1/6/10)
Winter Storytime Registration for age 2 begins on Thursday, January 7 at 9:30 AM (In case of inclement weather, registration will be held on 1/8/10)
The child’s library card must be presented at time of registration.
The child must be the correct age for the class by January 15.

Cecilia McCall author of OUR PLACE NEW CANAAN
will read her charming new picture book to children ages 4 to 8. 
4 PM in the Children’s Program Room
Following the reading children will create wonderful pine cone bird feeders.

Many New Canaan children contributed to the art work in the book.
The book will be available for purchase and signing.

French/English Storytime presented by Franc-O-Fun
For ages 3 to 8 and their parents
1:30 to 2:15 PM in the Children’s Program Room
French readers will capture the listening ears of young children as
stories come alive with the use of costumes, props and interactive French.
A short French fairytale skit of Boucles D’Or et Les Trois Ours (The Three Bears)
will be presented. A French snack of pain au chocolat will be served. Ooh la la!

from 5 to 8 PM in the Library.
 Mini-golfing in the stacks, food on the 19th hole, fun activity stations in the Children’s Room.
