The next book sale takes place Friday, April 20, through Monday, April 23, 2012, at the Library. Great prices on thousands of books!

Preparations are underway for the next Friends of New Canaan Library’s John Randolph Book Sale, which will take place at the Library on Friday, April 20 through Monday, April 23.   The sale of used books is the Friends’ principal fundraising activity, which raises money for a variety programs at the Library, including Summer Reading programs in the Children’s Room, art exhibits, film discussions, and the popular Notes in MidWinter concerts.  The book sale is named in honor of long-time volunteer and Friend of the Library, John Randolph.

Book sale chair, Pat Thatcher, welcomes individuals wishing to volunteer their time to help at the book sale.  Said Thatcher, “We want to build a group of volunteers to do the work leading up to the book sale and a group of friends who enjoy books and each other's company.”  Volunteers are needed the week before the sale to assist with set up, as well as on the days of the sale.

The Friends are currently accepting book donations for the upcoming sale.  Gently-used books, DVDs, videos, and music CDs can be brought to the Library during normal hours of operation.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the Library’s volunteer coordinator, Indu Arya, at 203-594-5003, or by emailing iarya@newcanaanlibrary.org.
