| Using the Library The New Canaan Library
is open to everyone. Patrons may use all print and computer resources on site,
regardless of whether they have a library card. For hours and directions, click
here. Patrons need a valid Library card to borrow materials. New Canaan
Library cards are issued to: - New Canaan residents with proof
of residency, such as a driver's license, utlitiy bill, lease, insurance card,
etc., showing both name and address.
Apply
for a Library card online now. - People who work or attend school
in New Canaan and live out of state with proof of employment/enrollment
and identification.
- People who own property in New Canaan and live
out of state with a local property tax bill and identification.
- Other
out-of-state residents can purchase a family membership for an annual fee
of $110.
If you live in another Connecticut town, a valid card
issued by your hometown library serves as your Connecticard, which is accepted
for borrowing materials at any of Connecticut's 163 public libraries, including
New Canaan Library.
