Building a College List
The first step in preparing for successful college admissions is narrowing down which colleges to apply to. The selection process is extremely individualized, and should take into account each student’s unique criteria and strengths. Join Dunbar Educational Consultants on Monday, February 3, for a talk addressing the topic of “Building a College List”. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room of New Canaan Library, with time for questions and answers following the presentation.
The presentation will be helpful not only to seniors and their parents who have been working on their list since last spring, but to juniors who are just beginning the process. Some of the topics that will be covered include:
- Factors to consider when building the list
- Accessing the likelihood of admission
- Importance of including more challenging colleges, as well as colleges likely to accept you
- Helpful print and online resources
- Using Naviance admissions software utilized by most high schools
