Category: Classes and WorkshopsCategory: Speakers & Lecture Series
Location: Plaut Room

The upcoming Health Care Reform Law means we all need to be educated on the new laws and options in order to make informed decisions. Randi Redmond Oster will present an informational session at New Canaan Library on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Ms. Oster is an expert in the chronic health care industry, and a leading speaker on Health Care Reform. She completed legal training approved by the State of Connecticut on the Affordable Care Act and Connecticut Health Insurance Exchange. The event will be held in the Adrian Lamb Room; it is co-sponsored by Lapham Community Center.

Among the numerous topics Ms. Oster will address are:

  • What are the top 10 changes I need to know about?
  • Will my Medicare deduction change?
  • How much will the new insurance cost?
  • Will I qualify for health insurance premium

Randi Oster has spoken on this topic in many libraries around the state, all to rave reviews. She is a writer, an electrical engineer and a sandwiched-mom. She is a process expert who used product development systems to identify and launch profitable businesses. She left a successful career at GE to care for her elderly parents and her children, as well as grow a business in the chronic health care industry. Her passion stems from her personal experience with her son’s chronic disease (Crohn’s), and the resulting realization that one needs to know how to navigate the health care system before a health crisis strikes.

Ms. Oster’s process expertise has been recognized by the Department of Commerce. She has been selected to the 2013 Malcolm Baldrige Board of Examiners, and is on a highly select team of business executives to evaluate business performance excellence.
