Art Committee welcoming new members

The Art Committee is welcoming new members! You needn’t be an aspiring Cézanne to be on New Canaan Library’s Art Committee. All you need is an interest in art, a desire to collaborate with like-minded people, a passion for selecting artists to exhibit at upcoming shows, and willingness to help install and dismantle art exhibitions.

Becoming a member of the Art Committee at New Canaan Library

The H. Pelham Curtis Gallery is a non-profit education oriented exhibition space that presents art in all mediums throughout the year. The Art Committee is comprised of staff and volunteers who curate 8-10 exhibits per year, install exhibition space, help design printed materials, write publicity, and hold receptions.

The following are membership requirements:

  • Attend monthly meetings held on the first Thursday morning of each month, year round
  • Help install and take down an exhibit three times per year
  • Help select artists and their work for exhibition
  • Attend four receptions per year
  • Intended only for adults; 1 year minimum commitment
