Articipation for Adults: Precisionism

May 26 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Location:

Please join us for this in-person on Thursday, May 26, 5:30-7:30pm

ArtScapades is one of our most popular and long-standing annual series, delivering art history lectures on historically important artists, styles, and periods in art. To build on the topics taught in ArtScapades, we introduce ARTicipation, a new series of art workshops inspired by ArtScapades lectures. We highly suggest attending the ArtScapades lecture prior to the workshop for the best experience.

The ARTicipation group will meet at the library and create a personal work of art in the Precisionist style. American Precisionist artists Charles Demuth, Joseph Stella, Charles Sheeler and Georgia O’Keeffe will be introduced in the ARTscapades lecture on Tuesday, May 24th. The following Thursday, May 26th, in the library Plaut Room, instructor Jeanne McDonagh of ARTicipation will introduce the group to a Precisionist art activity. That will transform their compositions using precise, sharply defined, geometrical forms.
