Bread Baking from Scratch

Learn the humble art of making a simple loaf of homemade bread in this presentation and demonstration with Colleen Bell. After making bread from scratch for her family every day for years, Colleen can speak to the superior taste and nutritional value of homemade bread. She will deliver a short presentation and bake a loaf of bread in a mini oven. Then, participants will mix up the ingredients and practice their dough kneading technique, taking home a sample to bake and enjoy. All materials will be provided. This program can accommodate up to 40 participants.


Colleen Bell is a lifelong foodie who has had the privilege to bake over 9,000 loaves of fresh milled bread. She teaches cooking and sewing classes at libraries throughout Connecticut, and runs a monogram embroidering business.
