April 28 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Location: Curtis Gallery

Join us for the last of our Artist in Residence 2018 workshops led by artist Alissa Siegal.  This collaborative art project is centered on animals.  Participants select an image of an animal found in New Canaan and will be given the opportunity to create a drawing or tracing of the image and instructed how to transfer that onto a mural surface. The participants will add color to their images and add them to a community-created mural.

Alissa Siegal is New Canaan Library’s 2018 Artist in Residence.  Alissa has been a full time artist since 1986, when she received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. She spent several years painting and travelling, then returned to Manhattan to earn an MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art. She opened a gallery with artist friends on New York’s lower East Side, and another in St. John, VI. Her work has been widely exhibited across the US and Italy, and is held in many private and corporate collections. After several years travelling and working in the US and Europe, she now lives in Connecticut creating work in her studio and collaborating with clients on commissioned art.
