Please join us for this live webinar on Monday, March 15th at 7:00 PM EST

During the month of March, New Canaan Library celebrates “One Author New Canaan” and the literary works of award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson with programming that supports, and honors themes found throughout her work.

Although concussions, and the long term issues resulting from them, have been more prominently discussed in the last few years, there are still many questions and misconceptions swirling around the topic.

In this lecture by Dr. Nitin Sethi of New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, attendees will learn exactly what a concussion is, how to identify concussions and other mild traumatic brain injuries, how concussions happen during contact sports, and how to maintain brain health.

This lecture is appropriate for those ages twelve through adult and is a part of New Canaan’s “One Author New Canaan” monthlong series of events that celebrate the works of Jacqueline Woodson. In Woodson’s Before the Ever After, the father of main character ZJ has trouble remembering things and seems angry all the time due to head injuries sustained during his pro football career.
