Behind the Books: Publishing Insights From an Industry Leader

New Canaan Library’s annual Conversations with Business Leaders lecture hosts some of the business world’s most successful, knowledgeable and dynamic individuals. The tradition continues with this year’s guest speaker, Marysue Rucci, VP and Editor-in-Chief at Simon & Schuster. Rucci will discuss her career trajectory, from discovering and cultivating new writers to the business of acquiring, editing, publishing, and selling books. She’ll discuss the magic behind bestsellers; rumors of the industry’s demise; and the wisdom gained working with a vast array of remarkable writers and personalities across the years, including Nelson DeMille, Mary Higgins Clark, Alice Hoffman, Shonda Rhimes, Hunter S. Thompson, and Betty White.
