Creative Writing Workshop for Teens
July 15, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join us for this two-day workshop taught by author Suzanne Nelson!
Do you dream of being a published author someday? This hands-on workshop focuses on the methods and styles for writing novels and short stories. Dialogue, plotting, conflict and characterization styles will be discussed and insight into the publishing and submission process given. The majority of the course consists of in-class writing exercises and in-class critiquing by peers and instructor. The goal is to write at least one short story and/or the beginning chapter/chapters of a novel. Pre-Class Assignment: Write opening pages for a short story or novel and bring it to the first class for critiquing.
Please note: The class will meet on 7/15 and 7/18 at 11 am. Participants must commit to attending both three-hour sessions. A pizza lunch will be served on both days.
