Leading up to the Festival, New Canaan Library cardholders can watch 2019 GIFF award-winning documentary, The Russian Woodpecker, on Kanopy. The Russian Woodpecker covers the thrilling investigation into the ghosts of the Soviet Union and the mind of an irradiated Ukrainian artist on a quest to discover the ‘criminal’ behind the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
