CANCELED: Introduction to Arduinos: Programming Electronics

September 11, 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Location: MakerLab

**This session is CANCELED due to instructor illness.  9/18 class will still go on as scheduled.**

Get started with microcontrollers in this 2-part introductory class.  We will learn to read a schematic to properly connect the electronic components and then program the Arduino to control sensors, lights and servos. No coding experience is required. We will use M-Block, a Scratch-like programming software to get started.

Workshop meets Tuesday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 18 from 4:30-6. Students must be able to attend both days. For 4th graders and older.

Arduino kits are available for check out and use in the MakerLab.

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It’s intended for anyone making interactive projects. Arduino senses the environment by receiving inputs from many sensors, and affects its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. You can tell your Arduino what to do by writing code in the Arduino programming language and using the Arduino development environment.
