Introduction to Python for Grades 5-8
August 16, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 7:00 pm, repeating until August 19, 2021

This 4 session class will introduce students to the basics of Python. We will meet Monday-Thursday August 16-19 from 7-8 PM. This is a hands on workshop using Zoom and repl.it, a website that allows collaborative coding. Each day will cover coding concepts such as variables, loops and conditionals. Throughout the week, we will work on coding a Snake-style game. Students will follow along with the instructor to write and run their own code. This class is taught by Kaan Savasoglu. Kaan is a rising 11th grader at St. Luke’s School and lives in New Canaan. He loves computers and has been coding since 6th grade. Kaan is proficient in Python and C++.
For rising 5-8 graders. Please only register if you are able to attend all 4 sessions. Students should join the class from a computer or laptop (Windows, Mac or Chromebook).
