Learn Your Land with New Canaan Land Trust
June 23, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

New Canaan’s woodlands are filled with dozens of different tree species, each with their own unique characteristics. Join Aaron Lefland, the Executive Director of the New Canaan Land Trust and Yale Forestry graduate, to learn some of the techniques for identifying these species. Aaron will teach participants how to identify trees by their leaves, branching pattern, and bark texture. He will also discuss each species’ role in forest succession, and explain the important role that each tree plays in our native habitats.
Please note, participants should wear sturdy shoes, and be prepared to walk on wooded, sometimes uneven, terrain.
