January 30 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Location: MakerLab
Working in pairs, build a robot and program a robot to compete in a Sumobot Challenge. Once a round of competition begins, humans are not allowed to touch the robots.  Your team must program your robot to stay in the ring and try to flip or push out your opponent before the round ends. No coding experience needed, but creative problem-solving and a try-again spirit is a must. For grades 4-8.
Did you know that the Library has LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits always available for play in the MakerLab? The kits are kept on the tall shelf in yellow boxes. Students are welcome to take down the kits and build and program robots.
LEGO Mindstorms EV3 allow you to create and command your own robots. Use different LEGO elements such as a programmable brick, motors, sensors, and various LEGO parts to make your robotic creations come alive!
