New Canaan Library is teaming up with Planet New Canaan and New Canaan Land Trust to organize a virtual exposition in celebration of Earth Day, where a handful of pre-selected community residents will ‘show & tell’ a sustainable life hack– successful or not– they’ve tried to employ in their everyday lives. The entire community is invited to tune in and learn from their neighbors about simple switches that will help protect our planet in some way in these fun, back-to-back, mini 5-7 minute-long presentations.

Examples of sustainable life hacks include zero-waste laundry solutions and toiletries, all-natural cleaners, reusable food preparation and storage solutions, and many more (click on the link below to read more about recommended presentation categories).

Analiese Paik, author/owner of www.sustainne.com will give an introductory address for this event about the importance of these lifestyle adjustments, share her expertise about sustainability from the 30K foot level (creating a new economy that’s low carbon and stops extracting/using finite resources that are destroying the planet’s ability to regenerate itself), and direct people to the 50+ personal sustainability pledges located on her website.
