It’s summer break! Join us for drop-in play time in the MakerLab. Each week we’ll have littleBits, Spirograph & K’Nex kits as well as coding & 3D design challenges. You choose what you want to explore! There will be a different theme each week with special projects.

For ages 6+ with an adult. Projects are geared for ages 6-14. All sessions are drop-in any time between 10 and noon.

Weekly Featured Projects:

July 6: Our summer reading theme is “the s’more you read, the s’more you know”! Celebrate summer reading with marshmallow challenges with toothpicks, spaghetti noodles and more!

July 13: We’re getting crafty this week with textile art. Learn how to create a weaving loom from cardboard, wrap letters & shapes in yarn or embellish a felt bookmark.

July 20: It’s code day! Start learning a new coding language on CodeAcademy.com or explore secret codes and ciphers. Make a Morse code bracelet and a decoder ring for a Caesar cipher.

July 27: We’re transforming paper into things that can spin, fly, rotate & more! Projects include flextangles, helicopters, paper spinning tops and balancing robots.
