
Meet Authors Carrie Seim and Sarah Maslin Nir at New Canaan Mounted Troop (In Person)

Are you crazy about horses? Join us at New Canaan Mounted Troop to meet middle-grade author Carrie Seim, author of Horse Girl, and New York Times reporter Sarah Maslin Nir, author of Horse Crazy. Carrie and Sarah will share their journeys as writers and riders. Instructors from New Canaan Mounted Troop will take us on a barn tour and give a horse-grooming demo! This program is ideal for horse enthusiasts of all ages, beginning with late elementary students.

New Canaan Mounted Troop is located at 22 Carter Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Adults and children over 2 are strongly encouraged to wear masks for the duration of the program.
Carrie Seim is the creator of The Flying Flamingo Sisters, the best-selling Audible series hailed by The New York Times as a Best Audiobook for Road Trips with Kids. Her acclaimed new novel Horse Girl has been praised in Rolling Stone, Town & Country, The New York Post, Los Angeles Magazine, Bustle, Young Rider, Horse Nation, Breyerfest, and more. Sarah Maslin Nir is a staff reporter for The New York Times. Nir was a Finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for “Unvarnished,” her more than yearlong investigation into New York City’s nail salon industry that documented the exploitative labor practices and health issues manicurists face. Nir’s career has taken her from covering kidnappings by terrorists in Benin, West Africa, to wildfires in California, and everything in between. Nir is the author of Horse Crazy. She loves horses.
