Location: Livingston-Higley Preserve

New Canaan’s woodlands are full of hundreds of species of trees, flowers, and other plants. While many of these species have been here for millennia, some were brought to New England in the last few decades, and have begun wreaking havoc on our natural ecosystems. Join New Canaan Land Trust board member Susan Bergen, for a look into how these native and invasive plants interact with one another, and change the dynamics of New Canaan’s habitats and ecosystems. Participants will learn to identify some of the common invasive plants in our region, and take away tips for managing them on their own properties.

Please note, participants should wear sturdy shoes, and be prepared to walk on wooded, sometimes uneven, terrain.
