NFTs: Art Collecting in the Digital Age

December 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Zoom Videoconference

Join us for this live webinar on Thursday, December 9th at 7:00 PM EST.

Just as the idea of bitcoin has become somewhat familiar, NFTs – Non-Fungible Tokens – is the next virtual concept many are trying to get a grasp on. Join us for a highly informative talk on all aspects of NFTs, presented by Alex Duque, Assistant Professor of Computer Animation at Lynn University. In his presentation, Professor Duque will provide an overview of Non-Fungible tokens “NFT’s,” beginning with an explanation of what they actually are – including their history, creation, and evolution – and then delve into their relevance and importance in the art world and the connection between NFTs and authenticity issues. How valuable can a digital image be, versus a tangible piece of art? Quite valuable it turns out. Professor Duque will conclude by presenting a number of examples of how NFTs are being utilized in art, and their overall impact on the art world.
