Parents: Write a Family Memoir

January 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until February 15, 2022

Location: Online

We all have family stories we’d like to get onto paper – to share with friends, extended family members that live far away or even for future generations to enjoy.  But how to begin?  Join Laura Cavers, Readers’ Advisor and writing instructor at New Canaan Library as she demonstrates how to begin the process, how to organize your thoughts and the events of your and your family’s life, and how to bring the story to completion.  This class is open to all levels of writing: the only necessary element is a desire to write your personal family story.  The class meets for five consecutive weeks: at completion, participants will be asked to share their work with their classmates in a short digital anthology.

Registration Closed (met maximum capacity)

Laura Cavers is the Readers’ Advisor at New Canaan Library and has been a Writing Instructor at New Canaan Library and Darien Library for over 10 years.  She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Manhattanville College and is writing a novel, Bellwethers over Lenox.
