August 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Location:

Please note, session four was originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 but was cancelled due to a power outage.

Ever wish you felt more confident giving toasts, introducing presenters at work, or telling short stories? Do Open Mic Nights look intriguing but out of your reach?  Strengthen your public speaking and personal presentation skills while having fun in workshops with Carol Glynn!

Session 1 (7/02):  Approach public appearances head on with tips, tricks and confidence builders to enhance your presentations.  Using theater games, learn to project your voice, relax your body and mind and be yourself sharing your ideas in front of others.  Practice thinking and presenting on your feet while having fun.

Session 2 (7/16): Practice presentation skills while improvising meaningful or humorous introductions and toasts to fit any event or audience.  We will outline strategies to get to the heart of your short personal stories and share them in ways that will resonate with others, giving you the opportunity to reflect on some of your own stories and life events that would work well before the next class.

Session 3 (7/23): Delving into two-minute life stories in more depth, we will focus on strategic options to organize your stories for successful presentations. Class members are invited (not required) to practice your rough draft two-minute stories, using the techniques we have discussed.  We will also learn strategies to present longer presentations for business or entertainment.

Session 4 (7/30): In our last workshop, we will celebrate.  Warm up your presentation skills and public presentations with next level theater games.  Participants are welcome to share short stories, introductions or longer presentation plans you might be working on, without pressure.   If time allows, based on the presentations, we will end with humorous confidence building games.
