Location: Curtis Gallery

Join us for a special One Book New Canaan Short Story Meetup: “The Four Sisters” from How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents by Julia Alvarez. Explore themes present in Spare Parts by Joshua Davis and expand your reading horizons with this great read!

PLEASE REGISTER

In this short,  we get to know the four daughters and five girls (mother included) as they toast, reminisce, and delve into memories of the past. Alvarez treats the subjects of immigration, exile, Hispanic culture and the American Dream with a sensitive and often irreverent touch, giving special attention to the aspirations of female Hispanic immigrants.
