Summer Writer’s Craft Shop – The Importance of a Strong Story Arc by Julia Strayer

June 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Online

Narrative story arcs can be both 3 and 5 point arcs, but that is not enough to create a compelling story.  Characters, setting, symbolism, and morals are some of other elements that a writer must consider.  Julia Strayer will discuss the writing elements that make strong stories resonate with readers.  This class is #1 of a 4 part Writer’s Craft Shop Summer Series.  Come ready to write; much of your time together includes in-class writing exercises and discussion.

REGISTER HERE This Class Is Full.  Registration is Closed (register for each Wednesday evening Craft Shop separately)

The Summer Writer’s Craft Shop at New Canaan Library is a new series of fun and engaging seminars that offer writing experiences for those interested in trying their hand at the writer’s craft. During June and July, writing instructor Julia Strayer will teach four Wednesday evening craft shops on important writing elements necessary for story creation. In addition, author Elon Green, Last Call: The True Story of Love, Lust and Murder in Queer NY, and award winning poet, Shanna Melton, will hold two separate Saturday morning programs to fill out the writer’s repertoire of skills.  Writers of all levels are welcome, and participants may register for all, or a few.
