
Supporting LGBTQ and Questioning Youth (In-person) at Lapham Community Center

Join Seth Wallace, Assistant Director of the Yale Office of LGBTQ Resources and clinician at Yale Mental Health and Counseling, for this interactive workshop.
Parents and caregivers will be guided in exploring ways to understand and support their LGTBQ or questioning youth. We will examine the impact of family support on the wellbeing and mental health outcomes of LGBTQ youth. Strategies for handling unfamiliar terminology will be offered. Participants will be invited to work through scenarios in which they navigate challenging moments and identify personalized solutions for success. For families with children ages 10+. Resources for parents will be provided. This program is held inside Lapham Community Center, directions can be found here.
This program is in partnership with New Canaan CARES. New Canaan CARES is an independent, non-profit community organization whose purpose is to advance the health and well-being of youth and families.
Adults and Children over 2 are strongly encouraged to wear masks for the duration of the program.
