In this session, we will learn the basics of watercolor, a medium that is beautiful and elegant, but can be daunting for beginners. We will learn how to apply our color onto surfaces that are wet on wet, wet on dry, and different types of washes. Be prepared to enjoy your new skill. Feel free to bring your sketchbook for note-taking and practice! All supplies will be included.

Jessica Hughes is a local mixed media artist and art teacher. She completed her BFA at Montserrat College of Art, and her Master’s in Art Education at Salem State University. Currently, she is employed at both Silvermine Arts Center and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. Her work has been exhibited in New Canaan Library, and in/around Boston and New York City.
