The Bruce Museum presents “Under the Skin”

May 11, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Zoom Videoconference

Please join us for this live webinar on Tuesday, May 11th at 7:00 pm EST

Join Bruce Museum educator, Gabriela Perez, for a virtual tour of their past exhibition, Under the Skin. This unique exhibition explores how the work of scientists, using the latest technological tools, can produce not only new information but images that are beautiful and artistic in their own right. Viewers will learn about the newest technology advancements and tools scientists are using in the field and at natural history museums to better understand animals and specimens. Additionally, viewers will get to see firsthand pieces of collected data and research that show how using tools that range from CT scans to staining, science moves into the realm of art.

The Bruce Museum is located in Greenwich, CT. New Canaan residents with valid New Canaan Library cards can borrow a pass to visit the Bruce Museum at the Library’s Information Desk.

Gabriela Perez is currently a School Programs Educator at The Bruce Museum. She received a dual degree in Human Development and Family Studies and Art History, with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Connecticut in 2019. In 2020, Gabriela launched Spanish Digital Bruce Beginnings, a program for Spanish-speaking children ages 3 through 5. Gabriela is interested in welcoming, engaging, inspiring, and empowering all members within local communities through education and outreach programs. Gabriela will pursue a Master’s Degree in Museum Education at The University of The Arts in the Fall of 2021.
