
Artificial Intelligence: Ethics, Impact and the Applications of AI

What exactly is artificial intelligence (AI)? How does AI work in business and non-business settings? How can we make ethical decisions when designing and implementing AI systems? Join us at the Library for a compelling lecture by John Preli, who will cover these questions and dive deeper into a discussion of AI’s current and future impact on modern society.
JOHN PRELI is currently the Director, Enterprise Risk Management – Watson Media and Weather – IBM Watson and Cognitive Applications. In this role John is focused on mitigating business and compliance risk. John has been with IBM for over 35 years and has held Executive Leadership roles in Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, Development Engineering and Sales Operations. He is experienced in leading global teams and business processes across multiple functional disciplines. John has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BS EE) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
