Working with Natural Dyes with Robin Green

Explore a world of color harvested from roots, bark, leaves and flowers!  In this hands-on workshop, learn how to extract dyes from plants and how to prepare wool, cotton and silk for dyeing. Each participant will leave with mini-skeins of yarn, and silk or cotton fabric that they have dyed themselves.

Robin Green is the Gallery and Programs Manager at Creative Arts Workshop, where she also teaches a variety of textile classes and workshops. Her work has been featured in The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters and she is currently an artist-in-residence at the Ely Center for Contemporary Art in New Haven. She brings a fun and fearless attitude to the act of making quilts, and creates a welcoming environment for students at every level of experience.
