Yale Science Communication Presents: “Brain Food: The Evolution and Application of Eating”

We are pleased to host the virtual presentation, “Brain Food: The Evolution and Application of Eating,” presented by Yale Science Communication. People often say, “you are what you eat,” but how has this changed over time? Food is much more than basic nutrition to fuel our bodies, or part of a pleasurable experience. In their talk, Yale Science Communication’s Shannon Rainsford, Audrey Tjahjadi, and Grace Swaim will discuss how diet impacts the development of our brains, as well as how humans evolved to seek out food, and the biology of how our brains use that food to think.


Yale Science Communication is an organization of graduate students and postdoctoral individuals passionate about science communication, education, and advocacy. They deliver talks on current topics in science, ranging from the microbiome to the feasibility of a real-life Jurassic Park. Their goal is to make science fun and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds and provide people with a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues in the news every day.
