April 25 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Location: Lamb Room

The human eye can detect millions of colors, yet there are many features in the universe that we cannot physically see. In the April edition of Science in the News, we will address a range of biological and man-made detectors used to capture information we can’t see, from invisible light to the tiniest particles. If you have ever wondered why some of us are colorblind, how a tiny camera in your phone captures a high-quality image, or how scientists identify previously unknown forms of matter, join us in uncovering the invisible, the fast, and the unimaginably small with The Detector Detectives!

The Yale Science Diplomats are a group of graduate students and postdocs passionate about science communication, education, and advocacy. YSD began in 2007, when a group of graduate students founded a “Scientists and Engineers of America” (SEA) chapter at Yale, which has since become the Yale Science Diplomats.
