You’ve Got A Story to Tell Memoir Class
February 5, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until March 6, 2019

You’ve Got A Story To Tell is designed to foster a person’s desire to write the stories of their life. The weekly meetings will consist of in-class writing exercises and homework that will be shared among participants. Topics discussed in class will include the differences between memoir, personal essay and autobiography; the use of sensory and active words; the use of time-lines, flashbacks; and the choice of distant or close 1st person narration to enhance their storyline. At the end of the 6-week session, students will present a writing of their own to a peer-review critique. Proper manuscript preparation and constructive editing techniques will be addressed. This class is open to all writing levels.
