Program Description

Event Details

This moss art workshop will explore the use of natural materials to create an assemblage landscape painting. Moss Art uses art materials found in nature to create one-of-a-kind compositions. In this art-making experience, personal expression will be encouraged to create a work of art that is either abstract or realistic.

All materials will be provided: The instructor will supply a diverse range of natural materials, including moss, bark, vines, twigs, leaves, flowers, ferns, butterflies, and bees. These can be incorporated into a framed surface, and hot glue and wood glue are also available.

About the Instructor: Jeanne McDonagh is a digital artist and fine arts teacher who recently retired after a 42-years of teaching art at the high school and college levels. Most recently, she taught at New Canaan High School, teaching AP Studio Art 2D Design, Photoshop Design, Advanced Digital Media, Photography, Printmaking, Ceramic, and Drawing for 32 years. Although retired, Jeanne continues to create and exhibit her art and works with adults, teaching drawing and Photoshop at New Canaan’s Lapham Community Center and art workshops at the New Canaan Library.
